As our country continues to battle the COVID-19 outbreak, we are closely following the Government’s guidance and wherever possible putting in place contingency plans for the continued delivery of our products and services, whilst ensuring that we comply with the most up-to-date advice on self-isolation procedures. The health and wellbeing of our colleagues, customers and communities continues to be our primary focus.
Business continuity plans have been implemented across the Group and all key IT processes have been rigorously tested. We are issuing regular internal communications and detailed guidance to our managers and have already taken action in a number of priority areas. Those of our colleagues who can work from home have been instructed to do so. All business air and train travel by Breedon employees has been cancelled, as has all travel between our sites and offices, with physical meetings replaced by video/teleconferencing wherever possible and social distancing practices adopted across the Group.
Visitors to our sites and offices are restricted to essential personnel only, all of whom are required to confirm in writing that they have not travelled overseas and are not displaying symptoms of the virus.
We are in regular contact with our suppliers to understand their business continuity plans.
Our plants will remain operational except where safety considerations or staff shortages dictate otherwise. We will continue to make every effort to ensure that our customers’ orders are filled promptly, whilst asking them to bear with us if our response times are longer than usual.
We will keep our stakeholders updated with developments in what is self-evidently a very fast-moving situation.
